Job Duties & Responsibilities:
We have a vacancy in our team for a Maintenance Technician to work within our main building and may including supporting other facilities on an as needed basis. You will perform a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep our facility looking perfect. To work well in this role, you should have basic maintenance knowledge around building repairs and cleaning experience.
FLOORING – Vacuum traffic areas, sweep, and/or wet mop vinyl & ceramic flooring surfaces. Spot clean carpets.
BREAKROOMS – Clean and wipe all plastic laminate surfaces, kitchen sinks and hardware to keep surfaces free from debris, dust and smudges. Clean microwaves, and toaster ovens.
DOORS/HARDWARE – Spot clean doors and door hardware to remove dust and/or smudges.
INTERIOR GLASS – Clean glass windows and surfaces to remove dust, fingerprints, and smudges. This includes interior glass windows entering offices and windows inside the offices.
TRASH – Empty all trash containers including recycling containers, wastebaskets and any additional items marked as trash. Replace trash liners. Dispose of all waste in designated receptacles outside in the enclosed trash housing.
DRINKING FOUNTAINS/WATER COOLERS – Clean all drinking fountains and water coolers. Drain the overflow water reservoir in the water cooler in the 4th floor lobby.
RESTROOMS – Clean and wash all sinks, urinals and commodes (including hardware), toilet, partitioning, mirrors, metal trim, dispensers. Empty all waste paper cans and receptacles. Spot clean restroom walls, doors, shelves and counters. Check and replace supplies including but not limited to: air deodorizer, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, trash liners and other items as needed.
DUSTING – Dust furniture, tables, telephones, and shelving units with specially treated clothes. Polish glass surfaces and tabletops, damp dust vinyl, plastic or leather-type chairs. Dust chair legs, baseboards
and low reach areas. Dust windowsills and ledges. Dust high reach areas; partition tops, file cabinet tops, ceiling tiles, picture frames, etc.
SPECIALISED CLEANING – Clean entrance door trims, Flush restroom floor drains with hot
water and disinfectant. Polish wood surfaces with NON-greasy protectant.
STAFF/PUBLIC BREAKROOMS – Empty and clean interior of refrigerators. Discard contents
TELEPHONES – Sanitize all telephones with an acceptable sanitizing agent.
VACUUMING – Detail vacuum all carpeted areas; offices, corners, edges and upholstered
GENERAL CLEANING – Vacuum ceiling vents. Dust blinds.
BEFORE LEAVING – Arm security system and lock all common area doorways. Make sure
building lights are turned off.
Other weekly, monthly, and or one-time cleaning and routine maintenance services may come up in addition to these daily activities.
INVENTORY – Maintains appropriate supply inventory and ensures best pricing in obtaining eco-friendly products for our office.
REPAIRS – Provides maintenance and minor repairs to office, if unable to repair then coordinates obtaining bids and ensuring work in completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
FACILITIES – Will assist in setting up and taking down tables/chairs for company events and programs. Will assist in inventory and disposal of excess inventory with Facilities Coordinator.
Performs other related work as required and assigned.
· 1-2 years of experience in cleaning, custodial, building maintenance or general labor experience
· Knowledge of cleaning solvents, compounds and use of commercial vacuum and carpet cleaning equipment.
· Skilled in the operation of a variety of hand tools.
· Skilled tradesman with experience in building maintenance/repair and remodeling.
· Knowledge of conducting work with an emphasis on safety and compliance.
· Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine decisions independently, sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activy and to work harmoniously with others.
· While performing the duties of this job, you will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, talk or hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or
controls. The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a part time position working approximately 25-35 hours per week. Salary to commensurate with work experience, skills, and education.
